Healed work.

A fresh tattoo always looks good. What tells you about an artist is how the piece looks six months later — so these photographs show both moments, side by side.

Why healed matters more

On the day it is done, almost any tattoo looks sharp: the skin is irritated, contrast is at its peak and the ink is still sitting at the surface. Three to six months later the skin closes over it and reveals what the technique actually did. Lines placed too deep spread. Lines placed too shallow drop out in patches. Shading done without a long-term plan closes into a dark block.

That is why a gallery of fresh photographs tells you little. This section exists to show the other moment — the one that matters to the person wearing the piece for decades.

What each case shows

A photograph taken on the day and one after healing, the time between them, style, approximate size, placement, session length and the idea behind the design. Where the client agrees, their words too.
